Kein Netzwerkzugriff

Die App ist ohne die Berechtigung für ausgehende Netzwerkverbindungen ausgeliefert. Sie kann technisch keine Verbindung ins Internet aufbauen — weder zu uns noch zu Dritten. Es gibt kein Benutzerkonto, keine Anmeldung, keine Synchronisierung, keine Analyse- oder Absturzberichte und keine Werbe- oder Tracking-Bibliotheken.

Das lässt sich am ausgelieferten Programm nachprüfen: Der Befehl «codesign -d --entitlements - /Programme/Vorhang.app» zeigt die vergebenen Berechtigungen. Eine Berechtigung für Netzwerkverbindungen ist nicht darunter.

Was Vorhang über andere Apps weiss

Zum Ausblenden braucht die App die Liste der laufenden Programme — Name und Bundle-Kennung, wie sie jede App über die öffentliche Schnittstelle von macOS sieht. Inhalte dieser Programme werden nicht gelesen.

Ist die automatische Erkennung eingeschaltet, fragt Vorhang einmal pro Sekunde die Fensterliste des Systems ab und prüft, ob eine Konferenz-App gerade ihre Freigabe-Leiste zeigt. Ausgewertet werden nur der Name der besitzenden App, die Fensterebene und die Fenstergrösse. Fenstertitel werden nicht gelesen — dafür wäre die Berechtigung zur Bildschirmaufnahme nötig, und die fordert Vorhang nicht an. Fensterinhalte sieht die App nie.

Nichts davon wird gespeichert, protokolliert oder übertragen. Die Abfrage bleibt im Arbeitsspeicher und ist im nächsten Takt vergessen.

Was auf Ihrem Mac gespeichert wird

• Ihr Profil: die gewählten Apps, das gewählte Bild, die eingeschalteten Aktionen
• Der Zustand vor dem Schliessen des Vorhangs, solange er zu ist — damit nach einem Absturz zurückgestellt werden kann
• Der Zeitpunkt des ersten Starts, für die vierzehntägige Testphase
• Ob die Freischaltung gekauft wurde
• Fenstergrösse und Position, wie bei jeder Mac-App

Mehr wird nicht abgelegt. Es gibt keine Aufzeichnung darüber, wann Sie geteilt haben, mit wem oder was dabei auf dem Bildschirm war. Alles liegt im App-Container auf Ihrem Mac und wird mit der App entfernt.

Das Hintergrundbild und die Kurzbefehle

Ein Bild für die Abdeckung wählen Sie im Öffnen-Dialog selbst aus. Nur auf diese eine Datei erhält die App Zugriff, und nur lesend; gespeichert wird ein Verweis darauf, nicht die Datei.

Für den Fokus löst Vorhang Kurzbefehle aus, die Sie selbst in der Kurzbefehle-App anlegen. Übergeben wird dabei nur der Name des Kurzbefehls.

Der Kauf

Die Freischaltung läuft über den In-App-Kauf von Apple. Der Kauf wird vom Betriebssystem abgewickelt, nicht von der App — Vorhang sieht weder Ihren Namen noch Ihre Zahlungsdaten und erfährt lediglich, ob eine gültige Freischaltung vorliegt. Für die Zahlung gilt die Datenschutzerklärung von Apple.

Da wir keine personenbezogenen Daten erheben, gibt es zu Vorhang nichts, worüber wir Auskunft erteilen oder was wir löschen könnten. Zu einer E-Mail an uns können Sie jederzeit Auskunft, Berichtigung oder Löschung verlangen.

No network access

The app ships without the entitlement for outgoing network connections. It cannot technically open a connection to the internet — neither to us nor to third parties. There is no account, no sign-in, no synchronisation, no analytics or crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking libraries.

This is verifiable on the shipped binary: running «codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/Vorhang.app» lists the granted entitlements. A network entitlement is not among them.

What Vorhang knows about other apps

To hide applications it needs the list of running programs — name and bundle identifier, as any app sees them through the public macOS API. The contents of those programs are never read.

With automatic detection switched on, Vorhang polls the system window list once per second and checks whether a conferencing app is showing its screen-sharing control bar. Only the owning application name, the window layer and the window size are evaluated. Window titles are not read — that would require the Screen Recording permission, which this app deliberately does not request. Window contents are never seen.

None of this is stored, logged or transmitted. The reading stays in memory and is forgotten on the next tick.

What is stored on your Mac

• Your profile: the selected apps, the selected image, the enabled actions
• The state from before the curtain was closed, for as long as it is closed — so it can be restored after a crash
• The date of first launch, for the fourteen-day trial
• Whether the unlock has been purchased
• Window size and position, as with any Mac app

Nothing else is stored. There is no record of when you shared your screen, with whom, or what was on it. Everything lives in the app container on your Mac and is removed with the app.

The image and the Shortcuts

You pick an image for the desktop cover yourself in the open dialog. The app receives read access to that one file only; what is stored is a reference to it, not the file.

For Focus, Vorhang triggers Shortcuts you create yourself in the Shortcuts app. Only the name of the shortcut is passed.

The purchase

The unlock uses Apple's in-app purchase. The transaction is handled by the operating system, not by the app — Vorhang sees neither your name nor your payment details and only learns whether a valid unlock exists. Apple's privacy policy applies to the payment.

As we collect no personal data, there is nothing about Vorhang we could disclose or delete. Regarding an email you sent us, you may at any time request access, correction or deletion.
