Kein Netzwerkzugriff

Was Quak bewusst nicht speichert

Keine Namen, keine Kontakte, keine Dateien, keine Tastatureingaben, keine Bildschirminhalte.

Privacy Policy

English version.

Quak collects no data and transmits no data. Position and settings stay on your Mac.

No network access

The app ships without the entitlement for outgoing network connections. It cannot technically open a connection to the internet — neither to us nor to third parties. There is no account, no sign-in, no synchronisation, no analytics or crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking libraries.

This is verifiable on the shipped binary: running «codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/Quak.app» lists the granted entitlements. A network entitlement is not among them.

What is stored on your Mac

  • Whether the duck sits on the desk, and its position
  • Whether the app should open at login

All of it lives in preferences inside the app container and is removed with the app. None of it is transmitted, analysed or given to third parties.

What Quak deliberately does not store

No names, no contacts, no files, no keystrokes, no screen contents. The app only sees where you drag the duck and whether you poke or feed it.

Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes the container at «~/Library/Containers/de.matt.quak/» and with it the entire state.

The purchase

Quak is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the payment, not the app — Quak sees neither your name nor your payment details. There is no subscription. Apple’s privacy policy applies to the payment.
