Kein Konto, keine Auswertung

Piaffe verlangt keine Anmeldung und legt kein Benutzerkonto an. Es gibt keine Werbung, keine Analyse- oder Absturzberichte und keine Tracking-Bibliotheken. Wir erfahren nicht, welche Aufgaben Sie ansehen, wie oft Sie üben oder wie Ihre Ergebnisse ausfallen.

Alle Aufgaben liegen in der App. Für alles ausser dem unten beschriebenen Lesen eines Richterbogens in der Cloud braucht die App keine Internetverbindung.

Was auf Ihrem Gerät bleibt

• Eigene Aufgaben, die Sie im Editor anlegen oder als .dressur-Datei öffnen.
• Protokolle: Noten, Bemerkungen und die Angaben aus dem Kopf des Richterbogens (Datum, Veranstaltung, Richter, Startnummer, Pferd).
• Ergebnisse von Abfrage und Blindritt.
• Einstellungen wie Farbpalette, Ansage und der Schalter für die Cloud-Lesung.
• Fotos eines Richterbogens: Sie werden gelesen und nicht in der App gespeichert. Was Ihre Kamera-App ablegt, bleibt in Ihrer Fotomediathek.

Diese Daten liegen im geschützten Bereich der App auf Ihrem Gerät und werden beim Löschen der App mit entfernt. Wir haben keinen Zugriff darauf.

Kamera und Fotos

Für das Erfassen eines Richterbogens fragt die App nach der Kamera oder nach Zugriff auf ausgewählte Fotos. Beides wird ausschliesslich dafür verwendet und nur in dem Moment, in dem Sie ein Foto aufnehmen oder auswählen. Es wird nichts im Hintergrund gelesen und nichts durchsucht.

Die Erkennung der Zeilen und Ausschnitte läuft auf dem Gerät. Verweigern Sie die Berechtigung, funktioniert alles Übrige unverändert; Noten lassen sich dann von Hand eintragen.

Richterbogen in der Cloud lesen

Handschrift liest keine Erkennung auf dem Gerät zuverlässig. Deshalb gibt es die Einstellung „Richterbogen in der Cloud lesen“. Sie ist ab Werk ausgeschaltet; erst wenn Sie sie einschalten, verlässt überhaupt etwas Ihr Gerät.

Übertragen werden dann die Fotos des Bogens, die Sie gerade aufgenommen haben, sowie eine zufällige Installationskennung, die Plattform und die App-Version. Empfänger ist unser eigener Dienst auf einem Server in Nürnberg (Hetzner Online GmbH, Deutschland).

Dieser Dienst reicht die Bilder an das Sprachmodell Gemini von Google weiter, das Noten und Bemerkungen ausliest, und gibt uns dessen Antwort zurück an Ihre App. Ein Konto bei Google brauchen Sie dafür nicht; Google erfährt von uns keinen Namen und keine Kennung, die auf Sie zurückführt.

Wir speichern die Fotos nicht. Sie bestehen für die Dauer der Anfrage im Arbeitsspeicher und werden danach verworfen; auch die erkannten Noten und Bemerkungen behalten wir nicht — die stehen nur in Ihrer App.

Gespeichert wird auf unserem Server ausschliesslich, was wir zur Abrechnung des Kontingents und gegen Missbrauch brauchen: die Installationskennung, Zeitpunkt und Anzahl Seiten einer Anfrage, der Umfang der Verarbeitung, ob sie gelungen ist, sowie Plattform und App-Version. Diese Zeilen bleiben, solange die Installation den Dienst nutzt; auf Zuruf löschen wir sie.

Schalten Sie die Einstellung wieder aus, wird nichts mehr übertragen.

Installationskennung

Beim ersten Einschalten der Cloud-Lesung erzeugt die App eine Zufallszahl und merkt sie sich. An ihr hängt Ihr Kontingent an Bögen. Sie ist keine Geräte- und keine Werbekennung, lässt sich keiner Person zuordnen und wird nicht über Apps hinweg verwendet. Beim Löschen der App verschwindet sie; danach ist die Installation für uns eine neue.

Keine Weitergabe

Wir verkaufen keine Daten und geben keine an Dritte weiter — abgesehen von der oben beschriebenen Verarbeitung durch Google, ohne die das Lesen der Handschrift technisch nicht möglich wäre. Ein Kauf im App Store oder bei Google Play wird von Apple beziehungsweise Google abgewickelt; wir erhalten dabei keine Zahlungsdaten.

Ihre Rechte

Sie können Auskunft über die zu Ihrer Installation gespeicherten Zeilen verlangen und deren Löschung. Da wir Sie nicht kennen, brauchen wir dafür die Installationskennung; sie steht in den Einstellungen der App. Am schnellsten löschen Sie alles selbst, indem Sie die App entfernen — dann sind auch alle Daten auf dem Gerät weg.

No account, no analytics

Piaffe requires no sign-in and creates no user account. There is no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting and no tracking library. We do not learn which tests you look at, how often you practise or how you score.

All tests ship inside the app. Apart from the cloud reading described below, the app needs no internet connection.

What stays on your device

• Your own tests, created in the editor or opened as a .dressur file.
• Protocols: marks, remarks and the header of the judge's sheet (date, event, judge, start number, horse).
• Results from the quiz and the blind ride.
• Settings such as the colour palette, the spoken announcements and the switch for cloud reading.
• Photos of a judge's sheet: they are read and not stored by the app. Whatever your camera app saves stays in your photo library.

This data lives in the app's protected storage on your device and is removed when you delete the app. We have no access to it.

Camera and photos

To capture a judge's sheet the app asks for the camera or for access to selected photos. Both are used for that feature alone, and only at the moment you take or pick a photo. Nothing is read in the background and nothing is searched.

Detecting the rows and cutting the excerpts happens on the device. If you decline the permission, everything else works unchanged and marks can be typed in by hand.

Reading a judge's sheet in the cloud

No on-device recognition reads handwriting reliably. That is why there is a setting called “Richterbogen in der Cloud lesen” (read judge's sheet in the cloud). It is off by default; nothing leaves your device until you switch it on.

What is then transmitted are the photos of the sheet you just took, plus a random installation identifier, the platform and the app version. The recipient is our own service on a server in Nuremberg (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany).

That service passes the images to Google's Gemini language model, which reads the marks and remarks, and returns its answer to your app. You need no Google account for this; Google receives no name and no identifier from us that leads back to you.

We do not store the photos. They exist in memory for the duration of the request and are discarded afterwards; we do not keep the recognised marks and remarks either — those live only in your app.

What our server does store is what we need for the quota and against abuse: the installation identifier, the time and page count of a request, the size of the processing, whether it succeeded, plus platform and app version. These rows remain as long as the installation uses the service; we delete them on request.

Switch the setting off again and nothing further is transmitted.

Installation identifier

The first time you switch cloud reading on, the app generates a random number and remembers it. Your allowance of sheets hangs on it. It is neither a device nor an advertising identifier, cannot be tied to a person and is not shared across apps. Deleting the app removes it; after that the installation is a new one to us.

No disclosure

We sell no data and pass none to third parties — other than the processing by Google described above, without which reading handwriting would not be technically possible. A purchase on the App Store or Google Play is handled by Apple or Google; we receive no payment data.

Your rights

You may ask what rows are stored for your installation and ask us to delete them. As we do not know who you are, we need the installation identifier for that; it is shown in the app's settings. The fastest way to delete everything is to remove the app — that clears all data on the device as well.
