Kein Netzwerkzugriff

Was Copydeck aufzeichnet

Was Copydeck bewusst nicht aufzeichnet

Texterkennung in Bildern

Privacy Policy

English version.

Copydeck collects no data and transmits no data. Your clipboard history stays on your Mac.

No network access

The app ships without the entitlement for outgoing network connections. It cannot technically open a connection to the internet — neither to us nor to third parties. There is no account, no sign-in, no synchronisation, no analytics or crash reporting, and no advertising or tracking libraries.

This is verifiable on the shipped binary: running «codesign -d --entitlements - /Applications/Copydeck.app» lists the granted entitlements. A network entitlement is not among them.

What Copydeck records

Copydeck watches your Mac's clipboard and keeps what you copy: text, rich text, images, colors and file URLs. Each entry also carries the name of the app it was copied from and the time.

All of it lives in a database inside the app's container on your Mac and nowhere else. It is not transmitted, not analysed and not shared with anyone.

What Copydeck deliberately does not record

  • Content from known password managers — those apps are excluded out of the box
  • Copies an app marks as confidential via the org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType standard
  • Anything copied while a secure text field has focus — provided Accessibility access is granted
  • Optionally: detected IBANs, card numbers and tokens

Capture can also be paused at any time from the menu bar icon, and you can add further apps to the exclusion list yourself.

Text recognition in images

So that copied screenshots can be found by their content, Copydeck reads the text in them using the macOS Vision framework. This happens entirely on your device. No image is uploaded and no service is queried.

Accessibility access

Copydeck asks for Accessibility access for exactly three things: to send ⌘V to the frontmost app so the selected entry lands there; to detect that a secure text field has focus so nothing is stored from it; and, on explicit request, to type an entry as individual keystrokes for apps that refuse a normal paste.

Copydeck does not record keystrokes. It installs no keyboard event tap and registers only the shortcut you configured. If access is not granted the app still works — the entry is on your clipboard and you press ⌘V yourself.

Deleting your data

Remove single entries with ⌘⌫, or the whole history via «Clear history…» in the menu bar menu. Optionally Copydeck deletes unpinned entries automatically after 24 hours or 7 days; pinned entries always stay until you remove them yourself.

Uninstalling the app removes the container at «~/Library/Containers/com.tightblocks.copydeck/» and with it the entire history.

The purchase

Copydeck is free and fully usable for thirty days; it is unlocked with a single in-app purchase. Apple handles the payment, not the app — Copydeck sees neither your name nor your payment details and only learns from the system whether the unlock exists. There is no subscription. Apple's privacy policy applies to the payment.
